This photograph shows a close-up of a monarch butterfly and the Ragged Point pagoda soft focused in the background. Monarchs migrate to Ragged Point by the thousands from October through January. This photograph shows an Annas Hummingbird at Ragged Point sipping on the nectar of one of Ragged Point Inn's many Mexican Sages. The ornamental flower gardens at the Ragged Point Inn and Resort Hotel support a large population of humming birds as well as butterflies which are all quite used to people watching and therefore easy to photograph; a wild honey bee can also be seen lunching too.
